Cation/Anion mixed-bed system
AquaMation offers a complete line of demineralizers and softeners to fit each customers needs. Conventional softeners as well as high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) are available to suit your individual softening requirements. Conventional softeners are usually used to treat fresh water such as rivers, lakes, well, and etc. This type of water does not usually have a high quantity of TDS. A conventional softener usually consists of one vessel.

A high TDS softener is usually used where there is a considerable quantity of NaCI in the water. The water associated with oil production is quite often saltier than ocean water. This causes a problem because the high concentrations of Na in the water tend replace some of the Ca and Mg already removed by the resin - causing hardness leakage.

In a demineralizer system, both cationic and anionic resins are used. The design can either be a two vessel system with anionic resin in one vessel and cationic resin in the other. Or it can be a mixed-bed system with both cationic and anionic resin in the same vessel. AquaMation demineralizers are available in all conventional bed arrangements as well as mixed-bed units, sized properly for the water flow rate and dissolved solids content.
