Data Acquisition and TransmissionADSI has focused on developing capacities of "smart" transmitters. The transmitter used by ADSI has a 64k Motorola Micro-processor. The micro-processor allows the transmitter to function as a data logger, and is particularly cost effective in data acquisition applications. The unit is designed to accept both analog and digital inputs, is capable of sending digital and power outputs, and interfaces with a RS -232 serial port. The micro-processor will scan sensors, perform calculations, store data, compress data, and control devices such as servo-motors on valves. ADSI has developed a solar powered transmitter which is capable of supplying power to a wide range of sensors and significantly increases the capabilities of the transmitter for use in remote locations. A lithium backup battery will provide two years of monthly transmissions.
